Event information
The Queensland Faculty of Adult Psychiatry Committee invite you to attend their next Dinner CPD Series.
In this presentation, Professor Flaws will discuss mental health recovery following critical illness, with a particular focus on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He will also explore contemporary approaches to PTSD treatment, including emerging and novel therapeutic interventions.
Professor Dylan Flaws comes from a strong research background and believes that continued learning is a cornerstone of excellent psychiatric practice. During medical school, he completed a Master of Science (Psychology), examining how clinicians assess and communicate risk. He subsequently completed a PhD focused on the clinical challenge of chest pain presentations to emergency departments.
Following his doctoral studies, Professor Flaws has concentrated his research on the physical, cognitive, and psychological recovery of patients who survive severe illness or injury. His work has contributed to a greater understanding of the long-term impacts of critical illness and the factors that influence recovery.
