The Queensland Faculty of Addictions Psychiatry invites you to attend a Symposium being held on the 17th of October.

Join us for an engaging and practical RANZCP Addiction Symposium designed specifically for psychiatrists and psychiatry registrars, bringing together experts in addiction psychiatry, psychology, and hepatology to explore contemporary challenges and emerging treatments in addiction care.

Topics include:
" Substance Use and Psychosis - contemporary trends, evolving evidence, and practical clinical guidance.

" Psychological Factors in Addiction - understanding the psychological drivers, trauma, attachment, and behavioural aspects underpinning substance use disorders.

" GLP-1 Treatments in Addiction - emerging evidence and future directions
" Private Psychiatry and Addictions - navigating addiction treatment in private psychiatric practice.

" Hospital Alcohol and Drugs Service Overview - models of care, consultation pathways, and the emerging landscape of GHB use and treatment.

" Alcohol Use and the Liver - recognising and managing alcohol-related liver disease from a Hepatologist.

Change of mind cancellations must be made in writing and sent to qld@ranzcp.org for a full refund by 9th October 2026. No refund will be given after this date.

The health and safety of conference attendees is our highest priority. The RANZCP requests that any delegate who is feeling unwell or has cold or flu like symptoms does not attend the conference. If, on medical grounds, you are unable to attend the conference, you must cancel your attendance in writing by email to ranzcp.nt@ranzcp.org. A full refund will be provided.
