The Queensland Section of Youth Mental Health invites you to register to their next Dinner CPD Series.

Dr Penny Larcombe will be presenting on "Functional Somatic Symptom Disorders challenge the traditional divide between physical and mental health, requiring clinicians to hold complexity without defaulting to dismissal or over-investigation. This presentation will explore practical ways to understand, explain and manage these presentations through a compassionate biopsychosocial framework that supports recovery, collaboration and therapeutic trust."

Dr Penny Larcombe Bio

Dr Penny Larcombe is a consultant paediatrician and adolescent young adult specialist at Gold Coast University Hospital with a clinical and research focus on adolescent medicine and functional somatic disorders. She is the medical lead of the Adolescent Young Adult Service at GCUH and runs the Horizons Clinic, a multidisciplinary outpatient service supporting young people with functional somatic syndrome including functional neurological disorder, persistent pain, and chronic fatigue.

Dr Larcombe is also Co-Chair of the Queensland Child and Youth Clinical Network (QCYCN), contributing to child and youth statewide clinical leadership, service development, and policy.
